*GP Plastics - New Thinking - New Solutions-* SPT
At GP Plastics Corporation we're harnessing the power of science &
technology to supply the newspaper industry. A new material, developed
by GP Plastics’ research and development team, has been created from polyethylene
that we have branded SPT. This new product is processed with a proprietary
method that produces the fewest wet paper complaints in the market. To
give you a better idea about the strength of newer polyethylene materials,
the strongest bulletproof vests are made with polyethylene and are only
0.20 inches thick.
This is what the "Plastics News" states about the newest, high
grade resins. "Laundry baskets, grocery bags, and milk jugs are all
made from polyethylene. It is the strongest of the plastics. Polyethylene
molecules are long chains that can be branched or straight. The length
and straightness of the chains and the purity of the plastic determines
how strong it is. High grade polyethylene has been used to make bulletproof
vests for years, but this new material is stronger pound for pound than
everything else on the market."
